Dapat sana may badminton session kami last Thursday night, but Jeff, of Asosayon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit, requested me to make some video clips for their show “Awit Alay Kay Kabayan” on Friday, which a musical show featuring the Riyadh most sought singers, like our original “alagas” – Cyndy dela Cruz, Kenneth Sawyer and his brother, Kervin Sawyer, who just arrive after competing from Pinoy Pop Superstar World Challenge in Manila, Chris Luzana, and of course Vanessa Santiago, the present LG Pop Quest Grand Champion in Riyadh.

Actually, lahat ata ng magagaling dito sa Riyadh, grupo namin ang nag discover.

So I have to adjust my time. As usual, I asked Papa Chris to come para mag-recording kami.. I told him to come before 5pm para matapos ko ng maaga, coz’ if I have time, puwede pa akong makahabol sa badminton namin.

I started the video around 4pm, para pagdating ni Chris eh voice niya na lang ang ire-record namin.. pero almost 8pm na, wala pa rin siya…I have no choice but to cancel my badminton session at tapusin yong video clip. Yon pala dumiretso na sa kanilang practice dahil kasali siya sa show kinabukasan.

He arrived almost 10pm na…pero sandali lang yong voice recording niya… Almost 12 midnight na nabuo yong 1 clip.

Kinabukasan, I noticed na may time pa para gumawa pa ako ng isang presentation. So I got all the video materials from my files na puwedeng gamitin… Good, I have been able to keep videos of their previous shows in my video library..

Before noontime, nagawa ko yong second videoclip.

I went to the Philippine Embassy earlier para ipakita kay Jeff yong ginawa ko, at the same time, maayos din yong projector..

An hour before the show, everything is ready… Guests started to arrive, pero Jeff decided to start the show after the Magreb prayer dahil masyadong maliwanag pa

First to arrive are the Sawyers’ brother.. binalita sa akin ni Evelyn, their mother, about Kervin’s experience during the Pinoy Pop Superstar World Challenge Final. Ang sama daw ng loob nila sa naging result…Aminado siya na mahirap manalo si Kervin, pero obvious naman daw na di katanggap-tanggap ang naging result…Halata daw na deserving pa yong taga Dubai na manalo. She also revealed to me about some issues with the network na masyado kong kinabigla…Pero masaya niyang sinabi sa akin about Kervin’s achievements, at kailangan daw bumalik ni Kervin in three months time sa Manila dahil may napag-usapan ng daw na mag-hahandle ng singing career ni Kervin. Evelyn revealed to me something, which I cannot divulge right now dahil confidential.. Basta she assured na may chance si Kervin na sumikat yon nga lang ayaw na nila sa GMA…(Kaya nga never akong maging Kapuso, solid Kapamilya talaga ako)
Cyndy arrived in her best gown (green), as usual gawa ni Mamu Breajette… Vanessa arrived late pero in fairness, at her age 15, akala mo dalaga na..
Cyndy had 4 songs, Vanessa had 2 and Kervin and Kenneth have one each…

Gaya ng inaasahan, our ‘alagas’ did a very superb performance. Cyndy, who is improving day by day, is ready after her graduation to try her singing career qhile studying when she will be home next year. Actually, someone from a largest TV network in the Philippines had already promised to help her last year when she join the Middle East wide Singing Contest.

During the prayer time, I had a chance to roam around and see who are watching the show..

I saw this cute 6’ tall chinito guy, who happened to be with one of the performers that night. Actually, I was not able to take a chance to meet him, but when we went home, I got his name….Chris Tan!

Even thousand miles away from the Philippines, the Pinoy’s love for music is still evident.

Recently, the Asosasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (APM) ( a group of singers in Riyadh) celebrates its 2nd anniversary thru a musical concert dubbed as “Awit Alay Kay Kabayan” at the Liwasang Bonifacio Ground, Philippine Embassy, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Contrary to the expectation of those who believe that performing arts has no place in Saudi Arabia, APM is one of the cultural organizations in Riyadh that provides musical entertainment to the Filipinos craving for something different to ease their boredom.

The bravura voice of 16 year old power-belter Cyndy dela Cruz has allured the audience. From fast, ballad and OPM songs, she remains to be the best entertainer in Riyadh.

The ballad performances of veteran singers Kate Destura, Wilson Mendoza, Joy Catalan and Stephen Fuentes complement the sentimental moods of OFWs, with their families and loved ones, inside the embassy.

The audiences get even thrilled when heartthrobs Kenneth Sawyer, Chris Luzana, Ryan Comandante and Pinoy Pop Superstar World Challenger Kervin Sawyer (just arrived after competing in GMA PPS in Manila) gave all-out performances that turned the crowd to go a little wild.

The crowd was enamored by the impressive voices of promising teen singers Vanessa Ann Santiago and Neribe Doloricon, who, at their early ages, had shown potential to be great singers someday.

Aside from their regular members, the APM Star Kids made their first appearances. The audience was impressed by the innate talents of Birit Bulilit’s finalists Pia Marie Paulican and Seaninne Ann dela Cruz, together with Malik Mariano and star-material Vimar Allan Tanquerido, who sang “Immortality”.

A river that flows in the desert....

Located just 30-minute drive in al Hair Road from Riyadh City Center, a kilometer distance before Riyadh Prison is a good recreation place commonly known for Filipinos as “Khamsa-Khamsa (KK)” exclusively for families during week-end.



Perhaps you cannot deny the fact about the absence of running water in Riyadh. Seldom you can see a river that flows… For sure, others may think that Riyadh is completely an arid land. However, even though mountains of rocks are standing robustly anywhere, KK has a wide river flowing from the north. You can see the sparkled water, upshots from the radiance of the sun, as it flows rapidly.



There are adequate pergolas/cottages within the area where families and friends can stay together.

You can also attempt to traverse between two mountains through a steel hanging bridge and if you haven’t ride a camel, you can best experience it here.



The palm trees were planted in rows near the river.



It can easily charm you and let you believe that this place is not just a desert of sands, but also a place of beautiful rocks, mountains and river ready to be embraced and enjoy with your loved ones.

Driven by Guilt

My apology for protecting the identity of the person involved.

I rented a condo-type in QC after i decided to leave the house we rented with Mark and Allan. I lived alone, pero madalas bumibisita pa rin sa akin yong iba kong friends..Gimik pa rin dito, fling doon…

Because of being alone sa inuupahan ko, I found companionship with Gelo. Actually, kaibigan ko si Gelo..guapo… habulin ng kahit sino…

May asawa’t anak siya pero happy-go-lucky pa rin. Hilig makipag barkada kasi he was too young when he got married at tipong madalas silang mag away ng asawa niya kaya nag hahanap siya ng way para mabawasan ang problema niya

Naging madalas ang pasyal sa bahay ni Gelo… Hanggang sa napansin namin na may namamagitan na pala sa aming dalawa. Sa akin niya sinasabi lahat ng problema niya sa pamilya…. Kaya noong nagsimula ang aming relation, mas marami pang oras ang ginigugol niya sa akin kasya sa kanyang pamilya. Naging intimate ang aming pagsasama… Naging masaya pero may guilt akong nararamdaman. I don’t want to be a home-wreaker. Mahirap….

Na konsyensiya ako lalo na nang unti-unti kong napapansin ang paghakot ng kanyang mga damit sa bahay. Na shock lalo ako ng madalas niyang kasama ang kanyang 2 anak pag pumupunta sa bahay tuwing week-end. This was an eye-opener sa akin. Hindi dapat na magsama kami tapos hihiwalayan niya ang kanyang asawa, which he told me before na naghahanap lang siya ng pagkakataon para mangyari yon.

Gusto niya na magsama na kami… Hindi ko alam kasi not even in his dream na papatol daw siya sa kapwa niya lalaki….. ngayon lang daw nangyari ang lahat…..

Gusto kong umiwas, pero sadyang desidido na siya to live with me.

Sa tindi ng pangyayari, I decided to take the offer for me to work abroad.. Para na rin maiwasan ang anumang posibleng mangyari and at the same time para na rin sa future ko.….

Nagalit sa akin si Gelo nang sabihin ko na aalis muna ako for a while kasi may training ako for six months sa Canada. Di niya alam ang totoo, na I will be away for longer time and decide not to come back….Doon ko nakita ang kanyang pagkabigla… I saw how he control his tears to fall down.. Pero umaasa siya na babalik ako…

Bago ako umalis, nagpa-alam ako kina Allan… medyo naging casual ang aming pag uusap, pero deep inside, naiisip ko papano kung aalis ako? I will miss him…

Si Jhun (isa kong talent na pinasok sa Club), binigyan ako ng souvenir para daw di ko siya makalimutan. He thanked me kasi wala na rin siya sa Club at nakapag-asawa na ng Haponesa.

Naiyak ako pero naawa sa iba kung kaibigan dahil di ko alam kung kalian kami magkikitang muli.

Isa si Mark sa nakita ko how he feel sad na malamang aalis na ako. Isa kasi siya sa mga nakilala ko na binigyan ko ng pag aruga na hindi niya naranasan sa kanyang family (broken family siya). Ma mimiss daw niya lahat ng pagbibigay ko ng advises ko, yong pagtatanggol ko sa kanya pag inaapi siya.. yong pag-aawat ko sa kanilang mag-siyota pag nag-aaway sila… yong pag luluto ko ng sinigang na paborito niya.. yong pagtulog niya sa kuwarto na parang bata na kayakap ako… yong masasabihan niya ng sama ng loob at mga problema…at yong taong bilib sa kakayahan niya bilang isang performer.

I was driven by my guilt.... hindi kaya ng konsensya ko na makitang may madadamay sa maling relasyon... Mas pipiliin ko, kahit mahirap, ang lumayo kaysa sa dumating ang oras na pareho lang kaming labis na masasaktan..

Desert Hunk #2: JC ...VANITY.. THY NAME IS MAN(uel)?

It doesn’t mean that male vanity is a sign homosexuality. What good things and proper care you do to your body will bring you healthy mind and long life.”.

He won the title and received gift and cash prizes amounting to more than US$2,000.

His winning answer is what he believes, because Jei-C has always been so cognizant with his looks, grooming and positive attitude.

You won’t see him bland. He shows his openness to embrace good grooming.

Jei-C is an IT Administrator in a medical clinic in Riyadh and a member of an all-male dance group called Beat Static.

Trivia: Jei-C is an Adidas fanatic. Never you will see him wears brands other than Adidas.. From original accessories, perfumes and clothes, he got it all.

Salamin

Sa pagmulat ng aking mata sa umaga, tanging ang mga mata ko ang bukas para makita ang liwanag sa aking paligid...



Ang isipan ko ay unti-unting nanunumbalik mula sa mahabang pamamahinga pero tila pagod sa mga iba’t ibang panaginip sa loob ng magdamag..

Sa pag salubong ng liwanag at aking kamalayan, ay tila may nabubuong paghahanda sa panibagong hamon ng buhay sa bagong araw.

Ang kamalayan ko ang siyang nag udyok at nagbigay lakas sa aking katawan upang bumangon para harapin ang umaga..

Isang umaga na walang katiyakan kung ito ba’y magiging tagumpay o katulad ng dati na sa bawat minuto ay walang patid na lungkot at kabiguan....

Pero life must go on, ika nga.

Kahit nakapanghihina ang mga kabiguan, kailangan kong maging malakas sa hamon ng buhay…

Lakas na nanggagaling sa mga kabiguang iyon…

Lakas na binibigay ng Maykapal na siyang tanging may alam sa lahat na mangyayari…

Lakas na naiipon dahil sa aking mga pangarap at sa mga mahal ko sa buhay…

Sa paghahanda ko sa bagong umaga, ang salamin ang siyang nagbibigay hudyat sa lahat ng mga maari kong gawin para maging matatag at maging handa sa anumang mangyayari.

Pilit niya akong inihahanda sa aking pakikisalamuha sa bawat taong aking makakasalubong at makakausap.. Hindi man siya makapagsalita, pero sinasabi niya kung handa na ako.

Siya ang nagtututuro sa akin sa mga dapat kung gawin upang maging matagumpay ang araw ko at maging hitik sa pasasalamat sa bandang huli…

Sa pagharap ko sa salamin, ang aking repleksyon ang aking nakikita….isang bagay na pumupukaw sa aking sarili sa mga bagay na dapat suriin muna bago gawin o sabihin…

Ang dumi sa aking mga mata… ang ayos ng aking mukha… ang galaw ng bawat parte ng aking katawan…Kailangang sigurado ako sa lahat ng bagay…para sa bawat kilos at sa tuwing may kausap ako dapat ay walang salamin na nakaharap sa akin…. Na sa tuwing manghuhusga ako ng aking kapwa, malinis ang aking sarili para maging katatanggap-tanggap ang aking mga sinasabi.

At sa huli, bago ko ipikit ang aking mga mata at ipahinga ang aking isipan, ang salamin ang siyang maghuhusga sa mga nagawa ko sa araw na ito…

Siya ang magsasabing kailangan kong matulog na may ngiti’t kapayapaan sa isipan dahil nagawa ko ang aking misyon….sa aking sarili…sa iba.. at sa Kanya.

Is Jon Carlo (JC) de Vera really gay?

Matagal nang alam ni Aifah ang tungkol MATAGAL sa tsismis na ‘bading’ si JC de Vera. Si Aifah ang Sex Bomb Girl na nakarelasyon noon ni JC.
Sabi ni Aifah, ang kaibigan niyang bading ang nagparating sa kanya ng tsismis na bading daw si JC. At siyempre, pinaimbestigahan niya ang tsismis na `yon tungkol kay JC.
May mga tsismis pa nga noon na kesyo may karelasyon daw na bisexual si JC. Na kesyo sobrang guwapo raw ng bisexual na `yon.

What a Wonderful Day!

I was surprised when I open my yahoo account this morning… It was my long time wish to receive a note from a very dear friend Dave, whom I mentioned in my previous blog.
Actually, it’s more than a decade and we don't communicate at all.


Everytime I went on vacation, I was hoping to see them, but it didn’t happen.

I hurriedly call Dave pero it took me a while para makausap siya….

Kahit hindi pa niya sinasagot ang phone , I was amused to hear his answering back tone.. It goes like this…. You are calling the “gorgeous” supermodel.. I’m sorry but he is busy in the pictorial…. If you want to leave a message press 1 if you want to set an appointment press 2…
Ha..ha.ha..ha.. as usual ganoon pa rin si Dave…star na star pa rin!!

I texted him.. and It took a while bago siya mag text back… kagigising lang daw niya… so I call him immediately…

…. Kumustahan… exchanging stories tungkol sa life niya at tungkol din sa akin dito… I asked him also about other friends…. About Allan….and I am happy to know na everything is well… Nabasa pala niya ang mga revelations ko.. including the one I wrote about him….He promised to give me Allan's mobile no.

Almost 10 minutes kaming nag-usap… and I promise na madalas ko na siyang tatawagan.

Hours after, Dave fulfilled his promise and gave me Allan’s no. but before he send Allan’s contact, I received a surprised message from +6390623xxxxx “Hello, Kumusta ka na?”….

I was in bed watching TV Patrol Live and I immediately check my N70 if I have enough load to call the sender. Sadly, it will only be enough for a-minute call. I can’t go out to buy recharge card from the store coz I cannot endure the scorching temperature (50C!) outside. So I immediately call my “provider”.. Without any question asked, he transferred me 100 S.R. charge. (That’s how bighearted he is to me…hindi niya ako puwedeng tanggihan!). “Salam Habibi….fi load? Ana ibwa miya riyal sura-sura..… Ma-asaalam…habibi…(mahina kasi sa English!).

In few seconds, nai-transfer niya sa mobile no. ko….


Malakas ang kutob ko si Allan ang sender. With all the excitement and enthusiasm, I dialed the no…....may sumagot kaagad “Hello”…..?

then i replied “H-Hi, kumusta na?.... naalala mo pa ba ako?”

“Sino ‘to?’……

A-Ako si……….”.. that was the start of our conversation…..

It was a total relief to hear his voice…. For almost 10 years na di kami nagkita at walang communication, tila ang dami kong dapat sabihin…ang dami kong dapat i-kuwento…. But then lahat ata na nasabi ko ay pangungumusta sa kalagayan niya…. Kung ano na ang latest sa kanya…. ang trabaho niya.... ang mama niya.... at tungkol sa mga nangyari sa kanya for the past years…

I was so thankful to hear great improvement sa kanya…. All the worries na iniisip ko noong bago ako umalis about his future ay biglang naglaho… He survived productively at sa tingin ko, naging learning experience na lang ang lahat…Now he’s studying and I wish him na sana makatapos siya ng pag-aaral at maging successful siya.

After we talked, I browse his friendster account to see his latest pictures. Doon ko nakita evidently na talagang maayos na ang kalagayan niya…. At doon ko rin nakita na…. cute pa rin siya!!

I thank God before I take a nap for these great surprises!!

I know Allan will have a chance to read this, and I want to tell him… MASHALA…SALAM ALAIKUM..till we meet again!!

1st Monthsary as a Blogger!

It’s my 1st monthsary as a blogger. For me, this thing has just fallen into place, unplanned.

Before, my monthly telephone bill reached almost 20% of my salary. Boy! That was too much for me, so I decisively limit my internet to at least 8 hours a week for chatting/emailing/browsing. Besides I have access to internet at the office, so I did all checking of emails there.

But when I discovered ways to unlimited internet with lesser charges (sorry guys I couldn’t reveal what I discovered!), I was so glad that I could now maintain my own blog and do lots of internet browsing with no financial worries …

I think it pours a lot of positive energy for me to share more of myself.

Almost everyday, I provide my blog with revelations, photos, articles and personal stuff inspired by award winner bloggers - hush and listen and miong (they are my idols in blogging.. Thank you guys, hope to meet you someday!!)

Although I am not an expert in HTML, coding, CSS, Media encoding ( I don’t even know their meaning!), it is thru lots of experiments (and initiative!) that I was able to satisfy everyone, including myself, with a great blog. Mind you guys… I did everything without asking help from others.

The boy-next-door bloomed into a star. And along with that came the changes in his nature. Nobody can question his undeniable talent. He had given poignant performances lately in all his movies and teleseryes from Star Cinema. I won’t forget his bubbly performance as Elly especially the confrontation scene where (Bea) found out his secret and decided to leave. It was the toughest performance of Lloydie that I truly admired.

Since his Tabing Ilog days, I always dreamt that someday we could spent time together in a secluded and quite place where we can both run naked.

JC DE VERA

JC may have taken time to blossom from being a dependable actor to the exalted status of being recognized as a good-rated actor. Having a good and right role to portray, he will definitely recognized as the next Albert Martinez. His having a lean and muscular body add to my desire. I got more interested to know him well since one time, I read a blind item about his sexuality.


MARKY CIELO

I don’t know, but there something that I like for this guy. He is much different from those mestizo-guys whom I adore. His smile and his being naive add more to my delight.

KIAN KAZEMI

Who wouldn’t go wild for this housemate of Kuya? With his flawless skin, good physique and sweetness, I think he has the quality that I will love him most, except for his voice. Knowing the fact that he is half-Persian, hmmm.. there seems to be a big thing clutched in his pants. I envied Nel at the house….

JR SIABOC

The Dream Academy 2nd placer, Jay- Siaboc, has been added to my list. His sexiness on stage and a typical “promdi” looks, reminds me of my experiences in my hometown.

LUCKY MANZANO


He truly gives inspiring performances in most of his films. How I wish I could say what Ate Vi’s said two decades ago “I-love-you-lucky”… I love his well-proportioned and masculine body. I kept a copy of his daring pictorial I got from a magazine.

Bakit apektado ang mga Pilipino sa ipinakitang ugali ni Wendy sa loob ng Bahay?

Noong pumasok si Wendy sa bahay ni Kuya, nakita ko kaagad kung anong ugali meron siya. Hindi na ako nagtaka dahil nga sa lumaki siyang mahirap at iba ang kinalakhang environment.

Sa maikling panahong pamamalagi niya sa bahay, hindi naipakita ni Wendy kung bakit isa siya sa pinili ni Kuya sa bahay. Lumabas siya kaagad….

Alalahanin natin na bawat isa sa kanila ay salamin ng ating buhay.

Ibinalik sa bahay si Wendy dahil alam ni Kuya na maging eye-opener ito sa iba at ipakita sa bawat isa sa atin na maraming Wendy sa labas ng bahay. Maraming gaya ni Wendy o mas malala pa.

Kung anong ugali meron ang bawat isa sa kanila, kadalasan ganoon din tayo sa totoong buhay dahil iba’t ibang kultura at pag-uugali ang ipinapakita sa atin sa reality show na ito.

Iyan ang layunin ng PBB… ang tanggapin natin ang bawat eksenang ating napapanood dahil iyon ang totoong nagyayari sa ating araw-araw na pamumuhay.

Mahirap itago ang totoong ugali sa bawat segundo ng ating buhay, kaya sa loob ng 126 araw, nakita natin ang tunay na ugali ng bawat isa. Mahirap maging hipokrito sa loob ng bahay dahil bawat sulok ay may mga kamerang nag-dodokumento sa bawat galaw.

Madalas tayong mag husga sa ating nakikita, pero hindi natin alam na sa paghuhusga natin, kabilang tayo sa mga hinuhusgahan natin.

Pinakita ni Wendy ang totoo niyang pagkatao.. walang masama doon.

Nagalit tayo sa kanya… Kinamuhian natin ang ugali niya. Minsan, pinagtawanan natin ang kanyang ginawa.

Sa mga sumunod na araw, unti-unti, naging masama si Wendy sa atin dahil sa pinakita niyang ugali na ikinabigla natin.

Nagmumura...palengkera....mahilig mag palipad hangin.... makasarili.... mapanghusga... mapagbintang.... mapag-maniobra sa ibang tao... hindi marunong tumanggap ng tama…at kung ano pa.

Dito naging matagumpay si Kuya sa adhikain niyang maipakita sa atin ang masamang ugali mayroon ang ibang Pilipino.. ang kabilang mukha na hindi natin nakikita o di kaya ay nagbubulag-bulagan...

Kinamuhian natin si Wendy.. Minumura natin siya… Pero may karapatan ba tayong husgahan siya?

Sa pagkagalit natin sa kanya, minsan ba inisip natin o binigyan ba natin ng pagkakataon na suriin ang ating mga sarili?

Bago tayo humusga, naitanong ba natin na ako ba’y katulad ni Wendy? Ang nakikita ba ng mga mata ko sa telebisyon habang pinapanood ko si Wendy ay sarili ko ang aking nakikita? Ako ba si Wendy? Ang ugali ko bang ito ay nakikita ng ibang tao at hindi ko nakikita? Ang panghuhusga ba na ginagawa ko kay Wendy ang ginagawa ng ibang tao sa akin na hindi ko nalalaman?

Madalas, hindi natin alam na si Wendy ay nasa ating sarili… na may mga ugali tayong kahalintulad sa ugali ni Wendy, pero binabalewala natin ito..

Ang nangyari kay Wendy at ang iba pang kaganapan sa loob ng bahay, kahit may nagsasabing hindi maganda at ayaw na nila sa nasabing palabas, ay naging matagumpay para kay Kuya na imulat tayo sa katotohanan at suriin ang ating sarili…. na ito ang katotohanan na kailangan nating tanggapin.. na kailangan ng pagbabago sa ating sarili.

Tunay na makabuluhan sa akin ang PBB dahil sa ibinigay sa aking pagkakataon upang malaman na si Wendy ay minsan ay nasa aking katauhan.. na ang nakikita ko sa PBB ay hindi si Wendy kundi ang sarili ko. Kailangan kong magbago para mawala ang Wendy sa sarili ko… Na kailangan mangibabaw ang Beatriz at Mickey sa aking katauhan upang ganap na maging kapakipakinabang ako sa ating lipunan.
